The volume of investments to the Far East will be at least a trillion rubles in 2012.

10.04.2012

Up to 2015 the volume of investments will amount to 3.3 trillion rubles, and in the years 2018-2020 - 9 trillion, said the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Far East Federal District, Viktor Ishayev.

"To say that the Far East gets little money from the federal budget today is not fair. Quite serious investments are incoming though, for now, maybe not as a part of a specific coherent program. We understand that the volume of investments will not be the same as it has been under the construction of the APEC summit facilities. The construction of the gas pipeline is almost finished. But a number of other construction facilities has been initiated that for sure will cause a serious volume of investments ", - said V.Ishaev.

Roughly estimated investment volumes to be transferred mainly to the Far East infrastructure will be over one trillion rubles in 2012 with a share of the federal and regional budget of 15-20% with the rest to be a share of corporative investments.

A number of investment projects is still in operation, among them ESPO pipeline, completion of the APEC summit facilities, petrochemical plant in Nakhodka and others totaling over 125 billion rubles.

"If the Far East will not get such strong investments to implement its projects, its economic and social development will stop. In general, we expect the Far East Federal District will finish the year 2012 easily enough"- V. Ishaev said.
